Yesterday is History, Tomorrow is a Mystery, but today is a Gift.
La Cité Miroir is a space where past and present meet to build the future. Live performances, debates, exhibitions, educational trails are intertwined and respond to each other within La Cité Miroir, a reference centre entirely dedicated to citizenship, memory and the dialogue of cultures. In this real public square, curiosity is constantly stimulated by a mix of activities. The Cité Miroir is part of a culturally dense space in the heart of Liège.
In addition to its temporary, various themed exhibitions such as masks, contemporary art... it is also hosting 2 permanent exhibits:
- "En Lutte" (In Struggle) - Stories of Emancipation" by the C.A.L.: https://www.liegetourisme.be/exposition-en-lutte-histoires-d-emancipation.html and
- "Jamais plus ça" (Never Again) from the "Territoires de la Mémoire": http://www.citemiroir.be/fr/exposition-permanente/plus-jamais-ca.
- "En Lutte" plunges the visitor into the heart of the struggle for a fairer and more united society. It looks back at the memory of workers' struggles and reminds us that the social achievements we enjoy today in Belgium is a precious heritage generations of workers have fought for.
Conceived as a temporal journey and guided by image, sound, light and the voice of the French actor Philippe Torreton, the permanent exhibit shows that the world can change and social progress can be achieved under the impetus of collective action.
A permanent exhibition of the “Centre d'Action Laïque de la Province de Liège npo” is housed in the Cité Miroir, a place of remarkable architecture that has been uniquely converted to make way for many daring temporary exhibitions.
Combined rates with several other tourist sites are available, especially for the exhibition "Never again!" of the "Territoires de la Mémoire".
