Historical visit of the Fort:
The Fort of Barchon was part of the fortified position of Liege built by General Brialmont in 1888. It fell under attack by the German army on 8 August 1914 and was then rearmed in 1940. His resistance was then harsher. From May 10 to 18, the fort dealt numerous blows to the enemy, who responded with a continuous bombardment of artillery and Stukas.
Open the 2nd Sunday of the month at 2pm from April to November. The visit begins with a slide show and ends with a visit to the museum.
Sports activities in the Fort site:
You can also experience a day of team-building adventure in this place full of memories.
On demand, Fort Barchon offers formulas adapted to climbing or for speleology lovers. Just form a group of at least 15 people. A rather original way to discover this place!
The fort has become a national training centre for caving, and "Adventure" courses are organised there.
