The fort of Liers was one of the twelve structures of the fortified belt of Liege. It withstood the bombardments until 14 August 1914 and was then used, after the Liberation, as a place of execution for those sentenced to death by the Belgian military courts. Located in the municipality of Juprelle, the site is now occupied by Safran Aero Boosters, a company that tests aircraft engines. The fort is not open to visitors.
