Created by the University in 1840 the botanical garden of Liège the exotic collections are housed in magnificent Victorian style greenhouses. 1050 m² house nearly 5,000 plants, including numerous cactaceae, orchids, carnivorous and grass plants, tropical plants as well as some Cycad specimens, some of which are the descendants of those introduced in the 19th century. In the park where the greenhouses are located, you may find over 170 tree species from various continents, some dating back to 1841. Closed on public holidays except on 1 May and occasional open days (Heritage Days in September). Guided visits for groups, by reservation. Jardin Botanique, Rue Fusch 3 - 4000 Liege; Admission free.
