The collections of the Prehistory are divided over 3 sections:the first one will treat the different stages in human activities, by means of a series of archaeological, characteristic pieces of the great periods in prehistory. The second section shows archaeological material excavated by members of the "Service de Préhistoire" and foreign collaborators. Finally, whereas the third section will show you reconstructions of different prehistoric objects throughout experimental pieces. The physical evolution of man is illustrated by a series of casts.

The museum is located in the basement of the "Bâtiments de Philosophie et Lettres" (entrance via Quai Roosevelt, 1B, Building A4).
