Considered as the symbol of the Battle of Liège and Belgium's heroism in the face of the German attack in 1914, Fort Loncin remains an exceptional place of memory preserved in the state of its destruction during WW1.

The Fort shows under what circumstances, after having been unceasingly and heavily pounded during 11 long days, the German aggressor succeeded in blewing up the fort on August 15, 1914 with the fatal impact on the powder magazine of a shell shot by the siege howitzer nicknamed "Big Bertha".

The fort invites you to relive these last moments via a new scenographic trail by immersing yourself in the daily life of the young soldiers including an awesome view on the explosion crater.

The Museum shows rare, curious and surprising items such as dummies in uniforms, period weapons and personal objects, all found on-site. So don't hesitate to come and discover this exceptional place loaded with history and emotions.

Duration of the visit: Museum + Fort with guide: 3 hours - With Audio-guides: 1h30'. Guided tours and audio-guides in 4 languages.
