Parc Naturel des Vallées de la Burdinale et de la Mehaigne
The Vallées de la Burdinale et de la Mehaigne Natural Park is located between the Hesbaye plateau and the banks of the Meuse, in the triangle formed by the towns of Huy, Andenne and Hannut.
It clusters together 22 villages belonging to the municipalities of Braives, Burdinne, Héron and Wanze and is home to about 15,000 residents.
The rivers that give it its name, the Burdinale and the Mehaigne, cross 11,000 ha, giving rise to two valleys that are highly geographically diverse and feature captivating landscapes and well-kept, attractive villages. This particularity provides us with a humid forest ecosystem and valley-bottom prairies, along with the vast agricultural expanses of Hesbaye. Hikers will also enjoy varied walks amid outstanding flora and fauna. Numerous sites are Natura 2000 listed.
Backed by a remarkable natural, historical, cultural and architectural heritage, such as historical castles and farms, this Natural Park is an ecological and rural holiday and tourist destination.
