The jazz04 au fil de l’eau rally is a musical jaunt along the Meuse which will take place on Sunday 25 August. Jazz will take pride of place along a trail of 8 concerts that showcase the cultural and historical sites of the Ardent City.
Signage, featuring a whole new graphic identity, will be implemented to guide the visitor along the entire length of the trail. Most of the locations will also be offering a bar and snacks. By way of a preamble, the show Sister in Crime (a cross between music hall and cabaret) will be presented on la Batte marketplace on Sunday 18 August.
The Chiroux cultural centre will kick off the festivities with a show at the l’Aquilone, in Outremeuse.
Next, after a trip following the water’s progress aboard the river ferry or on foot along the RAVeL, the programme continues at la Boverie with a performance by the famous French harmonica-player Olivier Ker Ourio.
We then leave the park by taking the Belle Liégeoise footbridge and getting back on the river ferry towards the l’An Vert, a stone’s throw away from the quai des Tanneurs. This warm and welcoming cultural venue open to artistic exchange will play host to a set by the French saxophonist Vincent Thekal and his trio.
At the start of the evening, still on the right bank, spectators will be able to choose between making their way to the Rue Roture, to the KulturA venue, or setting off on a stroll along the Dérivation canal to the Le Parc cinema, where the café plays host to a blues & jazz concert.
Following on from that, participants will be invited to return to the left bank, to the Chiroux auditorium, to hear a Flemish trio. And finally, rendezvous at the Jacques Pelzer club, in Thier-à-Liège, where the traditional jam session will round off this 10th edition in the small hours.
